Resistance welding with capacitor discharge

The experts of the working group deal with “resistance welding with capacitor discharge”. The previous niche process, mainly used for projection welding, has been investigated in more detail in recent years and the number of applications has risen sharply. Working group 3.5 has set itself the goal of making these new findings and experiences in this special field of resistance welding technology available to users in the form of DVS leaflets. An attempt is made to explain even complicated issues in a comprehensible way or to give recommendations.

Small and medium-sized enterprises without their own research and process department can benefit from this in particular. In addition, there is a lively exchange of experience in the groups on current welding technology topics and problems from research and industry. This also includes regular reports by the research institutes on ongoing research projects and the suggestion and accompaniment of new investigations into unresolved problems. Group V 3.5 unites experienced experts from research and industry, manufacturers of machines, welding systems and system components, consulting, research and testing institutions, as well as users of resistance welding technology.

The DVS 2911 leaflet “Capacitor Discharge Welding – Fundamentals, Procedures and Technology” can be downloaded by any DVS member from the DVS homepage.  Another focus is the supervision of IGF research projects in this technology area.
